UNC TV Re-Launches Station ID in High Definition

UNC-TV’s custom network graphical ID animation (produced originally by Flying Foto Factory) featuring the statewide network's individual station call letters recently got a face-lift. This time it was a “high definition” facelift in order to address the improvements the transition to high def broadcasting offers viewers. Flying Foto was asked to revise our original design layout to address the new visual aspect ratio (changing from 4:3 to 16:9), the higher image resolution capabilities of high definition broadcasting, and to label the various station’s as now being digitally televised. The original ID and other broadcast promotion elements were rendered and mastered to D5 at 1080i.

Dominion’s Nuclear Power Visitor Centers Integrate New Communications Technology

Running a nuclear power plant is VERY serious business. So helping a community understand the positive benefits of this kind of power generation is important to Dominion who operates two such plants in Virginia. To compliment community education efforts they’ve invested in visitors’ centers near those power plants. However, in 2003 these centers were in need of upgrades. Flying Foto Factory, Inc. was one of the groups they called on to assist in the process. Our team’s objective was to update and re-edit their existing video while also helping them transition from outdated video playback technology. We accomplished this by integrating new DVD interactive playback technology into their existing kiosks for improved quality and reliability.
